Sorry if this has been covered elsewhere, but I have looked through previous threads and am unable to find what I need to know. Now, the problem...
My S3 has been updated to Jellybean via OTA from Samsung, so I am assuming it is a factory unlocked unit as it wasn't from O2. Since the update, I have had issues charging the phone which weren't present before the update. Using the AC charger yields a charge rate of <2% per hour and charging via USB yields a rate of roughly 8-10% p/h. If I use the phone while it is chargning, the battery life actually drops.
I have been in touch with Samsung, who told me to remove the battery for at least 40 mins before reinserting it and discharging the phone completely. Then charge the phone to 100% while turned off before performing a factory reset. After my doing this, they think the battery is at fault and are going to send me a new one, however, I think this is software related as it seems odd how it's only since the update that the issue has surfaced.
Battery life is between 2 and 4 days with 2 e-mail accounts syncing every hour, WiFi and mobile data constantly enabled and variable internet usage daily - so no problems in the battery life department.
I hope someone can shed some light on the issue at hand, and my thanks in advance for any help given.
