Download manager excessive data usage

Anonymous
Not applicable

Have had Galaxy Ace for over a year with no problems but in last 2 weeks I have suddenly used far more data than usual even though my use of phone has not changed in any way. Bill Angel tells me data has been used by Download Manager but I do not know how or why. At the moment I have turned packet data off to stop any more data use but clearly this is not a long term solution. Any ideas.

Download manager is related to Google Play and app downloads/updates.
Check you settings in Play store to make sure you are only updating on a wifi connection.

Thanks- will give that a try. Thought I had already done that when I first downloaded Playstore but when I checked it was not ticked - perhaps an update altered something.

It's possible but it shouldn't - Bit naughty if it was due to an update. Anyway, that would explain your higher than usual data use.....
