Cannot send email without wifi

Anonymous
Not applicable

Hi

I've set up pop3 email accounts on my Sony Xperia Z1 Compact and am having problems

With a wifi connection, everything works fine

Without wifi, i can receive emails but not send them

The settings i have used are exactly the same as for my email in outlook

I'm stumped - has anyone had and resolved this problem?

Any help much appreciated

Thanks in advance

Well, the solution, for me was to download an email app & use that rather than email on the xperia phone

Set up and worked first time, with all the same settings as i was using for the xperia email - work that one out! 🙂

Which email provider and what are your smtp settings?
You should also use IMAP to replicate your email account more precisely.

It may be worth deleting the email account in your phone and re enter the settings.

I'm aware you state all looks fine but I've known this to help resolve.

I assume outlook is using your wifi too though?

I need to know what your settings actually are to help?

Im glad you found a resolution.

It's a shame the stock email app didn't work properly for you.
