Can't start a text message conversation on Xiaomi 12T Pro

Hi all,

Xiaomi 12T Pro running the latest version of MIUI.

Since getting this phone I have been unable to start a text message conversation with a contact - I get a "Mesage couldn't be sent" error.

However, if the contact messages me first, messages I subsequently send to that contact send every time.

This is reproduceable with every contact.

My EE SIM is able to send messages from the Xiaomi without this problem, and the O2 SIM works in my other phone - again without this problem.

I have tried resetting network settings but with no luck.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

Cheers.

Cheers.  I've had a look at the guide but everything looks as it should - the message centre number matches the account type, there aren't any outages and the SIM card seems clean/to work for everything else.

Have you tried a different messaging app or checked your RCS message settings?
