Android Virus?

Anonymous

Hi guys n gals

Tonight I was online via wifi using my S4 and I guessed a website address that wasn't quite right.

It went to a redirect and went on to to bring up a pop up which said it was from allmobiletracking.info. It said that I had a virus having and to "click here" to remove it.

Needless to say I didn't but has anyone encountered this before?

The site I went to first was on here but have edited it out for your safety as kindly recommended by Perksie and Bambino

In hindsight the site I wanted has also been edited out

They are just scams to get you to download an actual virus. You have no such thing on your phone/pc until you actually download anything.....

Awesome guys

Thank you. I did think that but wanted a bit of reassurance. I have lookout free on my phone. It's ok as it goes but it is just that, free.

Thanks for the quick response

LOL, yes and no....
I have quite a few paid apps which I'm happy to pay for if I think it necessary, however, the free version of lookout does all I need slight_smile
