Thanks, and I'm one of the gullible ones.........I didn't go for obscure ones, so don't know why, but angry birds was mentioned, and did download that...for my son!

Angry birds (or 99% of the other apps off Google Play) will be fine. But, if you click on links from unknown emails to download ANYTHING you are putting yourself at risk. You wouldn't click an email link and enter your bank details or any other user names or passwords would you, it's the same thing. Advice is always to read the user reviews of apps on Play before downloading. If there is anything fishy with an app someone will have found it and mentioned it.
