Solved: Wi-fi hotspots

Can anyone tell me how close you need to be in range to a Wi-fi hotspot for your phone to pick it up because I’m less than a quarter of a mile away but I’m not picking any Wi-fi signals that I used to use (Bt) and want to use (o2) Any help would be much appreciated

WiFi range is only about 50 meters at best.

The BT wifi you connected to previously may have been turned off as they are broadcast from customers home hubs.
