Hey Guys,
Just to confirm that we’re contacting our customers who currently have 4G ready phones as we're giving them access to 4G for nothing!
All the details on this are here http://go.o2.co.uk/got4G
Only those who currently have a 4G phone but are on 3G plans can take advantage of this offer.
The messages you may receive about this will vary depending on whether you’re currently in an area that supports 4G or not. We’ll grant all customers who own a 4G ready phone access to this offer so you’re good and ready when 4G comes to your town.
We want as many people enjoying 4G as we can, at the moment our 4G could cover 17 million people in the UK!
This is part of our 2014 4G master plan, if you have any questions or thoughts- Let us know!
If you are one of the 600,000 customers who will enjoy free 4G, please do share some speed tests with the community too!
Thanks
Brad

I wonder if giffgaff will be sneaky and omit 4G tariffs from their unlimited data goody bags.
Time will tell and will be interesting to follow.
To be honest, I'm not expecting them to offer unlimited 4G, but I would hope that their tariffs will be much less than what O2 are offering. As I'm never intending to buy other than sim free from now on, I can see that GiffGaff, or a monthly contract with another network is probably the way I will go. GiffGaff's 4G tariffs are supposed to begin next month, so not long to go now.

Brad
I'm on a Simplicity tariff, ending in April. I upgraded about a month ago from 3G to 4G, and therefore my tariff was increased accordingly. Will I received a text/discount?
Many thanks

Still not heard from O2 about this, despite being told in December when i queried (and again about a week ago) that existing customers would get their allowance bumped up....

Confirmed earlier by Brad that this was still going ahead, although I've not had my adjustment yet either.....

And when I use all my allowance in 5 mins will I have to buy a bolt on?
I see the idea behind it and it's a great offer.
Just, nothing's for free in this world and my 1gb is gonna be burned rather quickly.
Mind you I live in Cornwall so not much chance of 4g until 31/12/15!
Where abouts in Cornwall do you live?

I lived outside St Austell for couple of years before I moved near London.
