Hi,

I have a Volt packaget (£8/month for 20GB doubled to 40GB). I'm currently in the US on work. I thought Volt would cover roaming in the US however I am being charged for using data. Reading https://news.virginmediao2.co.uk/introducing-volt-the-new-supercharged-service-from-virgin-media-o2/... it states:

  • Roaming in 75 countries including USA, Australia and Spain with O2 Travel

but also has:

So do I need to enable O2 Travel and then it will cost me £4.99 per day?

Then that's something you need to take up with O2 as we are all customers here with no access to accounts etc

Suggest you message O2 on
Facebook (https://o2uk.co/O2CFB
Twitter (https://o2uk.co/O2CTW) or Instagram (https://o2uk.co/O2CIG) , they should be able to help you.

This is not O2 and we are all customers here similar to yourself and cannot answer account type queries.

@japsy

If you are with O2 then O2 Travel Inclusive means you can roam in the US for free. I have no idea what Virgin charge for the same extra. Firstly you need to check in My O2 and see if you have a bolt on stating O2 Travel Inclusive. If so, as I said it's free. If you have O2 Travel then it will cost you £6.00 a day when you use it.

All info here Guide: Roaming MegaGuide

By the way @japsy, the first link you posted was published a year ago. A lot of changes have happened to Travel with O2 since then. Read the excellent guide above.

I have an O2 sim. In my account bolt-ons it says I have

Volt O2 Travel Inclusive Zone.

So the USA is included, right (and therefore I should not be being charged for data roaming)? On the O2 app, the extra charge is being listed as Charges when abroad.

Depending on your tariff you are either eligible for O2 Travel Inclusive, where you pay nothing with the US or O2 Travel (If you are on a lesser tariff) and that would cost you £6.00 per day (IF YOU USE IT) If you have the opportunity to use Wifi for a 24 hr period, then you wont be charged for that day.

However you have checked as requested and you are on O2 Travel Inclusive, then you should NOT be charged. So you need to contact O2. You can call them free on +447860980202 or via social media (Links given by @Enlli)

Thanks all. After contacting O2, they are applying credit to my account.

There seems to be a lot of problems when roaming in the USA

Customer service need to resolve

Just appying credit doesn't fix the issues
