I am going abroad to several different countries for 4 months. I will use my phone in Australia and New Zealand for just under 2 months of this travel - the other countries don't qualify and I may buy a local pay as you go sim if necessary otherwise just access Wi-Fi. So hopefully I won't incur any extra costs. Will I still qualify for fair usage as I will not be using my phone in UK for 4 months?

FUP only applies in EU countries so for out of EU use it will not effect you.

While the FUP does not apply, if you were to use your phone to make calls, send texts or use data there would be charges to pay @coleen
See if this guide provides any help - at the least you will know what the charges might be.
