Wifi Calling only works if I have O2 signal first!

I have used wifi calling for over a year while living with weak O2 coverage, it has always workes fine.

I just moved to a remote area with no network coverage (by any provider), I have retained my wifi provider including using the router from my last address.

I am noe having an issue with wifi calling. When I switch my phone on in the morning it stays stuck on saying I have no network connection, it will not use wifi calling. However if I head out in my car and travel to an area with an O2 signal and return home wifi calling immediately works. Try a restart however and it will not work until I repeat my car journey.

I have my wifi calling settings set to 'wifi preferred' so in theory it should connect on restart but does not.

When I query this with O2 they just keep saying wifi calling is active on my account.

That may be, but this issue persists.

All settings are correct, voLTE calls are disabled (I have the issue no matter if that is on or off anyway) and I have tried doing a network reset, all to no avail.

Any ideas?

It might be worth trying the following steps:

1. Turn WiFi Calling off on the Phone

2. Forget the WiFi Network

3. Reset the Phones Network Settings

4. Restart the Phone

5. Reconnect to WiFi

6. Turn WiFi On

As it is usually although you have kept the same router etc, the phone will be having a moment.

I've tried that once but will try again in a few days when I next head into town.

I'm currently leaving my phone on 24/7 and will only risk the above when I know I will be going to an area with signal, as it is the only way I can get it to connect to wifi calling when I get home.
