Please, please can someone help?

I have contacted 02 directly and no one seems to be able to help.

 

I have an LG ThinQ phone. It is network locked to O2. I have no O2 SIM as it was my father's phone, who died in 2019. My 10 year old would like to use the phone as his first one. I have bought him a new SIM (not O2) and can not get it to work as it just always says network locked.

I have spoken to 6 different people and departments at O2 and everyone is struggling to unlock it.  I've been trying for 3 weeks now.

 

Please, please can anyone help??? 😭😭😭

O2 can't unlock it unless there is an O2 sim in the phone

A local phone store may be your best bet or a market stall

or just use an O2 PAYG sim https://www.o2.co.uk/shop/sim-cards/pay-as-you-go
