I've recently moved abroad and have a new phone and contract here- I'll be travelling back to the UK frequently so would like to keep my UK number but don't want to be charged a monthly fee, so I'd like to move to PAYG. Is there a way to do this when you're not in the country?

You will only be required to top up every 6 months to keep the sim active.
How to switch can be found here Guide: Migration & porting into O2
If you message O2 on Facebook (https://o2uk.co/O2CFB) , Twitter (https://o2uk.co/O2CTW) or Instagram (https://o2uk.co/O2CIG) , they should be able to help you with this.
Thanks.

@Cayte
You can move to PAYG but you will be bound by paying for a bundle each month, as o2 dont offer a bundleless PAYG service
You would be best getting a Tesco Mobile sim, and then you don't need to buy bundles (for now) or move to the likes of 1p mobile (they do require an initial £10 topup) and port the number over.
I do not work for o2 or any VMo2 /Telefonica/Liberty Global Company
