The reality is you won't be able to. Passwords can be compromised as part mass hacks on large websites.
Not all hackers are malicious either. Some are ethical and only do it to show companies weakness in their security.
If you feel you have been compromised then reset your password and change your e-mail address.
Use a more complex password with a random generator to enhance security. But anyway, one of my passwords got compromised on MySpace supposedly.....
