If you are Pay Monthly, you will need to get the O2 TRAVEL bolt-on before you go, and will be charge £6 for any day that you use your phone to make or receive calls or to send SMS or connect to local Data servicers apart from WiFi, @DavidTalbot

Good luck.

I am in Indonesia and have the travel bolt on.  For some reason whenever I try to make ANY call, I get the dreaded 'Call failed' three beeps before it disconnects.  Tearing my hair out here - any ideas??

@fetska Try doing a manual search for a different network than the one you're connected to.

Thank you Bambino.  Tried that but no joy.  It's a weird one because when I make the call, there is a clear 4G symbol in the top right, but that disappears as soon as I hit the call button.  Maybe that happens every time I make a call and I've never noticed but this is driving me nuts.

Do you have 4G Calling enabled? Sounds like the Indonesian networks may have shut down 3G in that area.

Without 4G Calling the phone drops to 3G to place a call

This is not O2 and we are all customers here similar to yourself and cannot answer account type queries.

Yes I do.  In fact there isn't an option for 3G calling - it's 4G or 5G from what I can see.  I managed to receive a call but not make one.

The irritation is my efforts to contact O2 via the chat messenger failed - and I obviously can't call customer services.  Modern Life is Rubbish.
