You need to check her tariff @Dancer7_

She may be eligible for O2 Travel Inclusive, if not then she needs O2 Travel.

However the download speeds in the US are heavily throttled and pretty poor. Good enough only for checking emails.

You should read this guide Guide: Roaming MegaGuide

Her best bet is to buy a local PAYG sim from various outlets in the US, or use Wifi.

2023 Cellular Network changes in USA - pay attention to this section of the guide @Cleoriff shared above, @Dancer7_ -

Calling from the USA

From 2023, you’ll be unable to use your UK mobile phone to make regular calls when visiting the USA because of changes to their mobile networks. However, you’ll be able to use your phone to make calls using the 4G network – provided you have a compatible phone.

Follow the steps listed here to check whether your phone is compatible, or you can find a list of compatible devices if you go here and click the link shown in the screenshot below the most up-to-date compatibility list.

If the device you have isn't compatible with 4G roaming, then you will be unable to make and receive calls when you're roaming in the USA. This down to USA network technology changes rather than anything on our side, or that O2 is in control of.

@Dancer7_ Adding to the advice from @Cleoriff and @pgn, as your daughter is going to be in the US for a considerable time, a Pay & Go sim from T-Mobile or AT&T would be her best option. She would need to check which network has the best signal in her area, as this can vary greatly from place to place. If she wants to keep in contact with friends and family in the UK, using WhatsApp over WiFi is free to use to keep in touch with others who also have the app. If she's going to be using public WiFi, which is readily available, she should think about installing a VPN for safety.

I DO NOT WORK FOR O2
