I'm trying to reply to a number the hospital gave me to text which is 8841 but I keep getting the message "can't send message work o2 error 0".
Please help.

You need to change your spend cap from zero
Guide: Spend Caps & Charge to Mobile on O2
Even though it's a non chargeable text, O2's system recognises that it's a short code number and thinks it's a premium text
Just one of O2's ailing systems right now

Thanks but it's already set at £20 and I haven't used it.

That number doesn't look right as nearly all none operator shortcodes are 5 digits long such as 81234
I would check the short code with the hospital.

Having worked in hospitals all my life, I can tell you, that's a departmental shortcode.
You need to ring the full hospital number and ask to be put through to the extension you've got.
OR
The automated system might ask you if you know the extension and then you key in that number.
