If I upgrade today do I need to use the new phone instantly or can I wait a while?

If the update involves trading-in your handset, there is likely to be a time-limit attached to that.

For example, Samsung allow fourteen days, but after allowing for posting it, you get about ten days to migrate your data and wipe the old device.
