Just wanted to ask, in your honest opinion or from experience.
How long did it take for your old number to be transferred from your previous provider to o2 ?
I just moved from giffgaff and have already requested my old number to be transferred over twice - to no avail.
Upon both previous occasions of speaking with o2 suppor they reassured me my number would be transferred over within 24 hours (After I gave them my PAC code etc.)
called them first on Saturday (11th Jan). 24 hours past and no joy - (Even after several reboots of the phone).
Called them a second time, The representative apologised and claimed it was because they do not work with number transfers on weekends ?? (Not sure why the first rep didn't tell me this!?). Anyway, 24 Hours past again and guess what ? Still not done.
So I called them again this morning and the rep apologised once again and claimed it was a 'System error' this time but could/ would not go into details of the problem. Then went on to reassure me that this will 100% definitely done within 24 hours...
Have any of you guys had such a hard time trying to get your old number transferred ?? Just me ?
I have no problems with the phone itself (iphone 5s) loving it so far, Just starting to lose my confidence in o2 a little bit already 😞
I guess all I can do is wait and see if it goes through ? Well here's to hoping!

Hi, glad all sorted
Just to clarify...PAC code transfers don't happen on weekends. This is because there's usually no-one from O2's porting team (or any other networks' porting teams) in on weekends. Its a Monday to Friday gig. Therefore a PAC code given to O2 on a Saturday would get booked by the porting team on Monday to go through on Tuesday. Same with bank holidays too. One given early enough on a weekday (before 5.30) would get booked for next working day.
Looks like a little bit misadvice on the saturday.
