Talk and web questions

I don't top up very often and currently have O2 unlimited. I have just got an iPhone and so am considering changing to talk and web but don't understand how the allowances work. It says allowances are based on the previous month top up.

But I don't want to top up very often. I might top up one month and then use the top up balance over the next few months. How does this allowance work if I top up £10 this month and then not again for the next few months.

Also regarding the £1/day for data, I guess if cellular is then any data usage will immediately use a £1 but how much data does it give?

The £1 web daily gives you 50mb of usage a day.

You are really better off with a tariff with some form of data allowance within it.

I use pay as you go go go £20 which gives me 1gb of data. On my anniversary date O2 deduct £20 from my payg credit to pay for the tariff.

Heres the official link to tariffs http://www.o2.co.uk/tariffs/payandgo

Make sure your settings in the iphone are correct for internet use.

Text active to 2020 , save and reboot the phone.

The manual settings are here http://www.geeksquad.co.uk/articles/chapter/595-04-how-to-set-apn-settings-for-the-02-mobile-network

If you dont want to be charged then turn off the mobile data settings in your iphone and use home wifi

You would need to top up by your anniversary date for your new allotment of allowances to refresh, as they do not roll over into the next month.

If you didnt top up you wuld drop onto O2's basic charges.

When you topped up again your chosen tariff would start again with a new anniversary date.
