Switching to 5G when it becomes available

Hi, 

I have just pre-ordered the Note 10+ 5G. I know that it will be on a 4G plan as 5G isn't going to be up and running till October. My question is would I need to pay off my 4G plan in full before I can switch to a 5G plan when it becomes available even though I'm upgrading to a 5G capable device?

Any answers would be much appreciated.

You would be eligible to upgrade, so you wouldn't have to pay off current plan in full

@ShaolinDee  Be aware that the 5G rollout will not happen all at once all over the country. It will take some time for everyone to get it, just as 4G is still not available to all.

@Bambino Yes, I am aware of that. Luckily I live in one of the areas where it will be rolled out first
