Sim Swap not transferred phonebook

My dad has just upgraded his phone and needed a different sized sim card.  We have done the sim swap and the phone number has transferred to the new sim card in the new phone and the old sim card has stopped working however it has not transferred over the numbers in his phone book.  Do I need to manually input them or is there a qucker way to do this?

@Lee21 What phone is it? Usually contacts aren’t saved to the sim so unless you have a back up then you will have to put them in manually

He had a Sony Experia and the numbers were saved to both sim card and phone for some reason. Now changed to Samsung J3

@Lee21 You may have to input them manually as They won’t transfer over to a new sim as a sim swap is just your phone number & tariff

They should have saved to Google by default.
Logging in using the same Google account should have copied them over.
Log in to www.contacts.google.com and check they are all there.
