I took out a pay monthly sim only contract and requested to port in my number. I did not receive any notification so contacted customer service by chat. They said it had not been received so said they put it through for me. I was told I would receive a text when it was scheduled and when the transfer took place. The following day I had received nothing from O2 so contacted them again. I was again told the port request hadn’t gone through. Due to the terrible service I asked to cancel my contract within the initial 14 days. Today I found that my number ported to O2. I contacted customer service and they told me that they couldn’t stop the cancellation. Therefore I will lose my number which I have had for 22 years. Has anyone got any advice as to how I can deal with this issue and keep my number?
