Really poor signal with new phone

Anonymous

Ive been with o2 for as long as i can remember an never had a signal problem over the last year its been getting worse with frequent loss of service but ok most of the time. I got a new phone at christmas on o2, an xperia miro and im using my old o2 sim but my recetion is terrible, my husband is using a new o2 sim withthe same phone and having poor signal too. My signal seems to average at 1  or 2 bars sometimes none and the occassional spike to 4 then back to 1 why is this? and why is a new phone so much worse?

there is a good guide to all the network speeds here http://community.o2.co.uk/t5/Pay-Monthly-and-Pay-Go/What-is-2G-3G-and-4G/m-p/286204#U286204

But turn 3g on when you need it for faster data outdoors but your calls on 2g will be better at your home

It shouldn't make any difference at home as long as you have wifi enabled. Away from home where signal is better you can enable 3G again so hopefully it won't have to much impact on how you would normally use your phone but give you better signal inhouse.
