Re: fake email

Anonymous
Not applicable

Hi I have had 2 emails telling me my bill is overdue see latest one below, I think its a fake one as account not overdue, anyone else had one of these?

As your bill is still unpaid, we'll shortly be disconnecting your
device. Termination charges of approximately £16.80 will become due and
it might not be possible to reconnect. It's not too late to keep your
account but you need to call 0800 032 5302 and speak to us.
Alternatively you can pay online, click www.o2.co.uk/myo2account and
select pay bill.

The Termination charge is an estimation of your remaining contractual
charges which may differ to your final bill, it does not include any
outstanding balance/refunds and unbilled usage/adjustments.

Thanks

O2

I'm not sure it's fake to be honest. It may well be an error. Definitely call 202.

@Anonymous  As suggested, call customer service on 202. There may very well be a payment you have overlooked. No harm in double checking, and you might very well save yourself credit rating problems in the future if you check.

Yes I thought so too. But as said, it could be an error so delicate them for clarification. If they disconnect you there will be a charge for reconnection but it's the inconvenience that is entailed. Check with your bank to make sure the direct debit has gone through ok.
