I've just spoken to O2 via 202 and explained that i cannot get 3G in my area still(they told me months ago that they were working on the masts and when the work is compleate that i will be able to get 3G in my area)
They told me to nip into a O2 store and get my contract 3G sim swapped for a 4G sim and that it would let me get a good 3G signal at my address.
I stressed to her that i am using a iPhone 4S and that it is not a 4G handset and that its 3G only!
She told me this dosnt matter and it will boost my signal and will allow me to get 3G in my area
Does anyone know any truth in this or wether it would be worth a shot as it sounds bizzare to me?
Regards

all new o2 sims are now 4g enabled sims.
This so when you get a 4g handset no new sim is required.
I doubt it would improve your signal unless the sim was faulty in your 4s.

I can see no reason why changing the sim would help, either sim should function exactly the same as you don't have a 4G phone.

That's normal, you might get better service once 3G900 is in your area.
