I've been with O2 for 9 years, been on Simplicity 30 from March 2010.
Used about 2gb of data a month but this month I've used 3.5gb so far.
Got a text from O2 saying that I'm using too much data and I'll be cut off if don't stop.
WHAT THE F....
Thanks O2 for paying £31.62 a month and £500 plus on new phone every 12 months.
O2 has 4GB data if you pay £47 on 24 month.
but me on unlimited can't use 3.5gb.
Spoke to o2 CC about this and was told that no one has unlimited data anymore and I should change to new tariff.
Online Simplicity 30 : 1200 mins | 2400 texts (4-1 MMS)| Unlimited data

If you're spending £500 per year on a new phone you must be buying the phone sim free. If that's the case, why don't you just get a GiffGaff sim with unlimited data? You'd still be on the O2 network if that suits you. For £20 per month you get the same number of minutes you have now, and unlimited texts too.

it was said somewhere on this forum that 3gb was the trigger level and that 4gb tafiff has only appeared in the last few days

I'm afraid O2 has never understood the meaning of "unlimited" and it's been like this for a few years now.
Unfortunately Ofcom are quite happy to allow this to continue, although I believe they are looking at it, so there may be a change in the future.

Thanks guys for the information.
It's sim free
Maybe I'd try GiffGaff but I do send a lots of MMS.
And £5 off my home broadband.
Is unlimited true unlimited with them?
