Number of SMS messages mismatch

My o2 account detail shows 30+ texts from my phone over the current bill period.  But the summary of what's left on my current month shows over 100 texts below my max of 500.   So - my query is - how come there's such a mismatcch in numbers?  I'm pretty much a minimal user with small time data and SMS allowances so seeing my account recorded over 100 texts got my attention.  There's no charges incurred - at present but with the number of ingeniou scammers all over the phone system it concerns me that number should apparently be so adrift.

We are all customers here and have no access to accounts. This looks like something you need to bring up with Customer Services
