Yesterday, I thought I had lost my phone. Called and got it barred.

Then found it, was very relieved and so called back. The customer service agent said he could not see me as the account owner, was very rude, he would not take my account number until I forced it on him, then SUDDENLY, he was all 'how can I help you, madam', no apology or anything, I was furious.

Anyway, he said he would take the bar off of the phone, I have had an email to confirm this but now I have no network access to make or receive calls. So I can't even phone the customer service centre to talk to anyone about it!

Then I find the ONLY way to contact anyone is by posting here on a community forum!

Shocking customer service to say the least.

There is no one from o2 who can help you.

But if you had a phone barred it can take 24-48 hours for that bar to be lifted.

To call customer services use a different phone or use Skype and call 0800 902 0217 and they should be able to help.

@StripySock To add: Guide: A Guide to Skype

Call +44800 032 1402
When it comes to the reason you are calling, stay silent for 15 seconds and you will be taken to the keypad options.
Press 2 for Everything Else
Press 5 for More Options
Press 7 for Anything Else which will put you though to someone.
Say 'Upgrade', 'Lost/Stolen', or 'Fraud' if the suggestion above doesn't get you through.
Best time to call is 8 am.
You can also reach O2 via social media:
Facebook (https://o2uk.co/O2CFB), Twitter (now X) (https://o2uk.co/O2CTW), or Instagram (https://o2uk.co/O2CIG)

@StripySock

There's also a good chance that O2 barred your sim card too so you'll need a new one to use once your phone is unbarred.

Pop into any O2 store with photo ID or contact customer service via the methods already given.

I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.
Please select the post that helped you best and mark as the solution. This helps other members in resolving their issues faster. Thank you.

Thank you for some very useful tips! Does staying silent for 15 seconds work for all automated calls?
