I am in the Postcode LN13 area but I have no coverage. I have complained about this but I'm being told there is whilst there is no coverage.

Dear all,
Two weeks ago I moved house to a rural area with no O2 network coverage.
I am six months into an two year contract.
The online chat representative asked for my postcode and reported that there was a "problem with a mast". Ironically they suggested that I phone a technical support number from my O2 phone.
However, neighbours all inform me that there hasn't been any O2 coverage since analogue days, nor is there any network coverage except for some Vodaphone signals.
What are my options regarding my contract? I'd like to stay with O2 but it is not much use if the signal dies within 1.5 miles from home for the next eighteen months. I rely on the phone for work.

2 options are jumping out at me here. And for each I assume you have wifi at home.
1. Download TuGo although it does have issues.
2. Change to Vodafone and acquire a Sure Signal box.
In relation to your contract o2 may well say that as you moved to the area it is not their fault but I would speak to CS and see what their options are.
If they can't help you will need to send a complaint to complaintreviewservice@o2.com for their full review. If they agree to release you from your contract you will be required to return your handset.
Please let us know how you get on

Your only real option is to try TuGo as long as you have decent wifi.
Unfortunately O2 won't have any responsibility about you moving to an area of no coverage.
I could mention O2's obligation to cover 98% of the population by 2017 but that doesn't help your situation now.
You coulkd sell the phone and put proceeds to the cost of paying off your contract and going with a network that gives you coverage.
There is really little else you can do.

Thank you Johnsie and Piperdog.
I wasn't aware of the TuGo app.
Broadband is available and I have the latest BT Hub so I'll download the app and let you know how I get on. I can see that O2's argument would be that I have good network coverage when I signed the contract and I can't dispute that.

Worth trying. I did as I love in a rural area (although in my case the coverage checker was hopelessly wrong) and to be honest although it took 9 months o2 have been over backwards and more to resolve things for me.
