Keeping Old Number

Hi,

I took out a new SIM only contract with o2 on 7th April where I gave a PAC code from EE requesting to keep my current EE number. It is now 1st May and still nothing has happened and I'm now being charged by both EE and o2!

Any idea how I can resolve this? I'm conscious PAC codes only last 30 days and it's nearly that now.

I understand times are hard right now which is why I've left it as long as possible but this is getting ridiculous and the phone lines are already shut despite allegedly being open until 6pm....

Can anyone help/advise?

Many thanks

@MarkH16 Ports are taking an excessively long time at the moment, and they don't happen on weekends at all. You'll need to speak to customer service tomorrow. Try calling at 8 am and use any option offered to try to get through.

I know it's not ideal but maybe ask EE to transfer your plan to pay as you go for now so that you don't have to pay monthly for it? Try contacting customer services over Twitter via DM regarding the problem if you have a Twitter account, I've been finding Twitter quite useful at the moment for stuff like that. Keep us posted slight_smile
Current devices: Apple iPhone 15 Pro Max, Apple iPad Pro 11” and Apple Watch Series 9 (all with O2)

Hi folks,

Thanks for your assistance.

Finally got through to someone on the phone after 45 minutes. A new PAC code and 2 days later they rang me back to say everything would go through tomorrow.

PLEASE NOTE: their systems did not record either of my attemps to keep the number despite both being submitted. Basically, if you wish to keep a phone number you MUST ring o2 to ensure it gets done.
