Hi and welcome to the forum.

O2 help link http://service.o2.co.uk/IQ/SRVS/CGI-BIN/WEBCGI.EXE?New,Kb=Companion,question=ref%28User%29:str%28Mob...

Some phones have the ability to turn off MMS in its settings or you can go into your APN settings and intentionally disable the settings by altering the string of code in the MMS field.

Or you can add a bolt on for MMS or perhaps use e mail , or if the recipients have these downloaded -> WhatsApp or viber

LOL!!! Excellent advice!!

Remember that if you send a text that is very long (not sure how many characters long) that your handset may convert this to an MMS (picture message) instead of a SMS (text message)

Android devices normally convert to mms after 480 characters (3 sms messages) however some of the special smilies on the keyboard can count for as many as 90 characters.
