If you have an O2 data sim in it you won't be able to make normal phone calls.

You could make calls over Whatsapp, Skype or Facebook messenger if you have one of those installed and your Family does too.

@Nathan6 You can use Skype to call any number, even if the other person doesn't have the app. You just need to buy a small amount of credit.
