Calling a ship in an emergency...

Anonymous
Not applicable

...£47.56 for a 7 minute call now showing in my 'pending billing' O2 screen.

Had to call my parents on their ship (Costa Luminosa) after they were robbed in Marseille yesterday. Thieves took their phone and injured my mother so made a quick call to the ship to help cancel their phone and make sure they were OK.

O2 call charges screen shows costs to ships as 'Unavailable' so wasn't able to check in advance. I knew it was likely to be a costly call but - nearly £7 per minute - really?!

@Toby for example plusnet pricing http://www.plus.net/home-broadband/tariffs/ all in one easy to find place I understand o2 may need 2 or 3 of these to cover payg pay monthly ands business but the current international pages are useless. (line the use of unavailabe on payg roaming should say no roaming) But I digress.

Thank you for the feedback @Toby

Hopefully the op will have their case looked at favourably as the required info was not on the O2 site.

£8.10 a minute is outrageous. There must be a fantastic profit margin in it - if you had a payg international SIM it's less than half price - £3.50/min
