Additional SIM for GSM enabled house alarm

Anonymous
Not applicable

I have moved to a VOIP phone system in my house and they took out the analogue connection. I didnt realise that has now meant that my alarm system wont phone out.

One option is to have a GSM box with a sim. Can I get an additional sim tied to my existing pay monthly contract?

You can but it will be on a separate number and therefore billed independently of your phone sim.

Your alarm company would probably have to set all that up. I had one in my old house and all the installation and set up work was done by them. I never saw the sim, so I don't know which network it was connected to. That would most likely be determined by your alarm company too, so you may not have a choice. They will more than likely choose the network that has the strongest signal in your area, which may not be O2.

I DO NOT WORK FOR O2
