Hi again I have a question. I recently upgraded with 02 and had to pay off the device plan for the contract, as still had a year to go and then upgraded. But now have decided to cancel the upgrade. What then happens, does 02 then refund me the money I paid for the device plan and the plan reverts back?

You dont get the device payment back. Once thats made it ends the credit agreement so that is non refundable.

Your now out of contract and can either move to sim only, upgrade to refresh or leave.

@Cleoriff I said the device is theirs to keep, but they asked if they would get the £400 back, that they paid to upgrade, so paying off the phone to upgrade. This won't be refunded if they cancel the upgrade. If I'm understanding the question correctly. 😀

@O2Tracey

I think we are talking at cross purposes here. I was presuming that the op had paid off her old contract which cost them £400. If so, the old phone is theirs to keep.

If everything for the new contract is returned under the change of mind policy and returned within 14 days, then they only have to pay the airtime used.

That's what the Change of mind policy is about. You change your mind.

@Cleoriff I agree with you but they asked if they would get the £400 back if they do the change of mind, which they will not x

@marvi0

You wont get any money paid off your device plan to upgrade early refunded, as you have closed your Credit Agreement.

You have signed up for a new contract basically.

If you upgraded before the 1st July you have 28days to return the handset and either

a. move to a sim only contract or
b. choose a new handset and airtime agreement

as @Cleoriff said you only pay for the airtime and any additional charges..

I would do this instore as well.
