I received a text saying, if I top up before 04/03/2013 then they will double my top-up,
to use on calls, text and Internet for 30days. My question is, if I top-up £10, I will receive £10 free, but if I use the £10 free on calls and text, and after 30days have £10 balance left (that I originally topped up) will that credit also automatically expire?

Hi Sam-95.
The £10 free is what O2 call "virtual credit".
So if you make a chargeable call or text whilst you have this it will be taken from the free credit first, then your actual credit will be taken.
Depending on your tariff depends on if you still have your actual £10 left at the end of the month. If you are on Text & Web or O2 Unlimited then you will still have it at the end of the month.

I assume the £10 is a free virtual top up to use for 30 days & your original amount will still be the same

Thank you for the reply, it was really helpful....
So I have just topped up and figured it out that the extra credit, doesn't appear in my balance, so that is great, and extra £10 to use on calls since I am on text and web.
