WiFi and mobile data are two different ways of connecting to internet services.
To use mobile data you just need to turn on the setting on your phone.
For WiFi you need to connect to a WiFi signal from either a router or a hotspot.
You can search for connections in your WiFi settings and connect to them there although some will require a password which you can get from the hotspot owner or off the router itself.
