Anonymous
Not applicable
I received a text MMS today from O2UK today which claimed it was a picture message but all it shows are the words no subject above the item and the where the picture is ment to be is a the words RANGE_FUP_MMS... I'm worried my phone now my now have a virus, I've phoned customers services but they wasn't much help and didn't seem to know what it was, is O2UK a genuine text from O2?

As I say I knew this was the correct O2 site as it followed previous texts I have had from them. First time I have ever had a MMS though...but as you see from the screenshot above...it was genuine enough...

That's why I doubt it's anything to worry about but a virus scan will put minds at ease.

Well it seems strange that we both had an MMS from O2 @Anonymous. Obviously I turned mobile data on to get the picture...and mine was fine. (as shown in the screenshot)

To be honest O2 are doing a big campaign re these Christmas gifts so I expect others will get the MMS

@Cleoriff it seems that way, I had my mobile data on but for some reason it didn't work on my phone and ended up looking dodgy after O2 didn't know what it was

Hi guys, just to confirm O2 is starting to send out some Black Friday & Christmas -related MMS, as mentioned above it could have been corrupted somehow and deleting it should be fine. It's a bit difficult to diagnose over the phone so if it causes big concerns still, you could also pop into a store so they can see it. slight_smile
