Hi all,
About 2 months ago I received a paper bill to my home address from O2 for someone who has never lived at this address. I ignored the letter. The next month another came through. I also ignored this. Today a third came through, so I tried to call O2 via 202 on my mobile (as I am also an O2 customer). There does not appear to be a specific route to take on the phone system to talk to someone about a random query such as this so had to wait for about half an hour to speak to some kind of billing department. Anyway, I eventually started to speak with someone and all was going well until I explained my situation at which point he stated "sorry, not anything I can do....." then he hung up on me. I decided I wasnt going to go through all that drama again, so I opened the letter to see if it was hopefully spam or something... nope, turns out its for unpaid phone bill - it was a sum of arrears notice.
I have no idea who this man is who has somehow got his unpaid bills sent to my house nor how I speak to the right person at O2 to inform them of this. Does anyone have advice? Thanks!

If you think you’ve been the victim of fraud – whether it’s because you’ve given details to someone over the phone, or clicked on a link in a suspicious text or email there are things you can do:
Contact your bank if you think you may have given out financial information. They can help protect your account and stop transactions.
Change your account and online account passwords. Not just your O2 account. All of them.
Forward fraudulent texts to O2 for free on 7726.
Contact Action Fraud on 0300 123 2040.
Call your Virgin Media or O2 customer services number if you think somebody’s taken out a contract using your details.
Virgin Media customers can phone 150 from their landline or 0345 454 1111 from any other phone.
O2 customers can call 202 from their O2 phone or 0344 809 0202 from any other phone.
You can block the number that called you, or any number you think may be suspicious.

If the bill is not in your name @jamiejohn, it might simply be an addressing error. In addition to following the guidance already given to you, I would be inclined to send a photocopy of it back to O2 with a covering letter of explanation. The postal address to use can be found at :-

It is :-

Optimistic considering O2's track record.
