Hi,
I just checked my Equifax credit report and there is an entry under the Credit Agreements section for "Communications Supplier from O2 (I)" in the name of an individual who has the same first and last name as myself but with a different date of birth at a different address? The account was opened on 18/12/2006 and is still active to this day! It's not in default, the account holder has made all payments but this entry has now linked me financially to his address and his wife is now listed as someone i'm financially linked to.
How can I get this corrected?

Thank you for responding to my request for help.
I have now just sent the following message to the email address you provided me with above:
Dear Sir/Madam,
Having just checked my free Equifax credit report I have discovered that there is an O2 account listed as active and in good standing on my report. I am not an O2 customer, I do not have any active O2 accounts with your company and so I can only assume that this account has been incorrectly linked to my credit report?
The details of the account holder as shown on my credit report are:
Equifax reference: ***REMOVED FOR PRIVACY REASONS***
Creditor: Communications Supplier from O2 (I)
Name: ***REMOVED FOR PRIVACY REASONS***
Address: ***REMOVED FOR PRIVACY REASONS***
Date of birth: ***REMOVED FOR PRIVACY REASONS***
Account number: XXXXXX6583
The above account has incorrectly linked me to the following address:
***REMOVED FOR PRIVACY REASONS***
The above account has incorrectly linked me to the following people:
***REMOVED FOR PRIVACY REASONS***
I hereby request that you correct my credit file by removing the O2 credit account, address and any people linked to such account or address.
My personal details are:
Name: ***REMOVED FOR PRIVACY REASONS***
Address: ***REMOVED FOR PRIVACY REASONS***
Date of birth: ***REMOVED FOR PRIVACY REASONS***
I have also opened a dispute with Equifax for all three incorrect entries:
Case number: ***REMOVED FOR PRIVACY REASONS***
Case number: ***REMOVED FOR PRIVACY REASONS***
Case number: ***REMOVED FOR PRIVACY REASONS***
I look forward to your response.
Kind Regards,
I received the following auto response:

Just to provide an update, O2 never responded to my email. All I got was the automatic acknowledgment and nothing else. So, don't waste your time emailing O2 because you will probably be ignored.
In the end I raised a complaint with Equifax and to their credit, they responded within 5 days with the following response:
Dear Paul,
Thanks for getting in touch about the information on your credit report.
We've now added a Notice of Disassociation to remove all information relating to *** NAME REMOVED *** with a different date of birth including his associate *** NAME REMOVED *** and the address *** ADDRESS REMOVED *** from your credit report. The information appeared on your credit report because of similarities in your personal details. It caused our matching systems to identify their data as yours. We apologise for any concern this may have caused you. You’ll be able to see this change the next time you login to your myEquifax account.
I hope that this answers your query. If there's anything else we can help you with, please don’t hesitate to get back in touch by updating this question in the box below or by calling us on 0800 014 2955* or 0333 3214043** Available 8am - 6pm, Monday to Friday (closed Monday 26th December).
Kind Regards,
Aileen

Good to see Equifax coming clean about their error for a change... as usually they just change things without telling anyone.
