I work in Malmesbury, Wiltshire.

We have a O2 signal but no 3G coverage. No one on O2 can get a 3G signal, regardless of device, business or private customer.

My colleague who sits one metre to my right is on Three and gets a 3G signal.

Anyone else here from Malmesbury have the same experience?

Any ideas how to tackle O2 on this mater?

Their site says the area is covered by 3G and there are no network issues. A message repeated by the call centre.

Anyone affected needs to report it then they can log the issue with the network team. They probably weren't aware of it when you spoke to them.

If your a business customer their is an option of a boostbox.

If not tugo is available to pay monthly customers that works off home broadband wifi.

Other alternatives are viber and whatsapp.

Try wiping your sim down.

Has this happened recently or have you always had issues getting 3g.

Improvements are happening to the network ref 4g rollout which will improve 2g and 3g.

This may be affecting you.

Try switching to 2g to see if things improve.

It's not my phone. The issue affects all O2 users regardless of device.

Customers of Three get a 3G signal from the same mast

Then have the person whose phone is affected call O2 and report the problem. If Three customers get a signal, it doesn't mean that the same equipment is being used even though it's the same mast.

I DO NOT WORK FOR O2

I did advise the OP to get as many people as possible to report it. I think he was replying to BoB.

I've not said it is your phone that may be at fault.

They are doing some work on the masts over the next few days. Hope that resolves the issue for you.

Seems the issue here is conflicting information then !

OP says,
"Their site says the area is covered by 3G and there are no network issues. A message repeated by the call centre"

Just checked the OFCOM website and the current O2 equipment is listed as GSM.

I assume that means not 3G capable?

Let's hope the work about to take place is an upgrade.

Funny thing is, we got a 3G signal for three days in the first week of July. Nothing since.

Will try and get through to the network team tomorrow.
