An article I spotted that might be a touch misleading in places with respect to O2, about signal boosters and Wi-Fi calling and SMS/texting:

https://www.ispreview.co.uk/index.php/2021/07/status-of-uk-mobile-signal-boosters-from-o2-three-voda...

The bits highlighted below caught my eye:

Further down the article, it does note:

"some operators support voice calls but struggle with texts"

Your mileage with O2 may, as they say, vary.

@pgn

I read that earlier, and it looks like o2 are the only ones now who offer boost boxes / femtocells and even then only to Enterprise and some business customers.

WiFi Calling is also fraught with issues, as the article alludes to, such as hand-off's and low bandwidth broadband, and we see it in the Enterprise space hand offs across mutiple Access Points...

WiFi calling but no WiFi SMS - with the demise of TuGo, most of that O2 'service over WiFi' functionality went out the window.
