How do I use a sim card from abroad while travelling

hi, I am in Peru, want to buy a sim card to introduce to my phone, what do I need to do?

If you are travelling then you just buy a local sim and then put the sim in your phone assuming you have a dual sim phone, if you dont but your phone supports esim then just scan the QR Code on the esim.

When did you get the phone @Aga8 and from who?
o2 haven't locked phones since 2018, so if you got it after then it should be a case of getting the new sim and putting it in the phone...

It was from.Virgin a year and  a half ago. They now used O2.
