Being shouted at by customer services

Anonymous

I really am upset with 02 services .. I was on the phone to an 02 customer service and she was shouting down the phone at me... I would highly recommed another network to friends and family as the service is rubbish! I have recently lost my job and they will not help me reduce my bill! Has anyone else had a problem with 02?

Hi Chloe, sorry to hear that but I've never heard of any facility that O2 have for reducing your bill.

They might accept a delayed payment or two until you can get back on track.

Try again, you will get a different operator who may understand better.

Customer services wouldn't be allowed to do that.

Could anyone else take it on for you?

Sorry you are having problems Chloe, how long have you had the account.

As perksie says try a different operator with a calm sensible approach. I can't imagine why a customer adviser would be shouting down the phone at you.

Age is immaterial here: when you signed the contract you committed to paying the monthly tariff as an adult so you have to abide by the T&C's.

Unless you are midway through your contract you will not be able to reduce it and at that point it is only the next step down, normally £5 less. You could negotiate more but as above, it might be a compromise. If it comes down to it, sell the phone to pay the bills and buy a cheapy to get you through.

Agree with above, shouting down the phone would be quite noticeable in the office so if you feel inclined, do log a complaint.

I have had unsatisfactory service on more than one occasion. The latest being when I tried to be put through to the correct dept dealing with my pay & go mobile dongle & problems with my email account. It shouldn't be an 0800 pre fix & I was kept waiting for over 40 minutes being sent to the different  depts, all wrong & then being cut off. I do not get the right solutions when asking on line & just want a direct telephone no. to sort this long standing problem out. I have had to use a works email address for more important emails.

I have found the some of the younger customer service assistants patronising and not listening fully to the problem hence problem not solved & a very dissatisfied customer.

Just wanted to point out that the reason its an 0800 pre fix is so the call is free. Otherwise I'm sure that O2 would get even more complaints that calls to them is costing people money.

0800 are not free from a mobile which is what most people with O2 have.
I have had similar problems with getting passed from pillar to post and never getting the right answer. The reason is every phone call is scripted, you ask a question the operator inputs it, a question appears with a yes/no answer, they ask the question then input yes or no which then raises another question and so on until they get to the scripted solution which isn't always correct, then they are stumped and pass you to another dept who has a different set of scripted questions.
The operators are not allowed to actually work outside the box of the script.

And thats why there is the option to call 202 from a contract phone or 4445 from a PAYG phone for free.

Personally I wouldnt call O2 from my phone if I was having a problem with it, I'd use my landline, hence why they also provide an 0800 number.
