All these sites have npw been blocked by O2 who say I have to prove I am 18. No warning. no customer care.
WHY?
Anyone can buy the racing post, anyone can watch At the races and anyone can access a Forum.
Surpizingly I can still access my bookies and place bets.
I have asked O2 but just get a response saying they don't understand my question.
They will understand when my contract runs out. I'm off
Is anyone else as annoyed as me?

Proving your over 18 should not be too hard.
I know your saying anyone can buy the paper, but on balance anyone can watch porn on the net but that does not make it right.
As a father im always posative about trying to protect under 18's from such content.

Im glad that networks are starting to take responability to help try protect under age content.
Sorry, but in my view it's the responsibility of parents, not phone networks, to look after children.
For sure O2 could have a filtering product that could be applied to an account if a parent requested, but they shouldn't be sticking it on everyone's account by default. Nanny state etc...

If O2 want to make an optional "feature" that blocks sites of whatever types, then that's fine. The tiny fraction of vaguely sentient people that want that can ask for it. The rest of us that don't need Nanny O2 needn't be bothered by it.

This is the first Time and last time I'm using to o2 , they have took it upon themselves to inforce this by default, they could of easy asked you if you want it for a adult or child at point of sale or contact. But NO
they have created nothing but a headache and block anything with content that "they see" as un fit in "their" view!
Nanny state for sure and o2 playing a unwanted big bully brother.
o2 to big for its boots don't become a robot and dump o2 until they change their ways- downright annoying
Caauton this sign has sharp edges - o2 lol

It is really easy to remove the age restriction and certainly nothing to stress about. Call them and enjoy a relaxed Christmas browsing to your heart's content.:smileywink:
