Solved: Phone without SIM - can you still call emergency s...

I have a Nokia Lumia 930 that I no longer use. I'd like to give this to my nephew to play with. He is always borrowing his mother's phone and making phone calls and so forth... he's not yet 2 so it's not intentional.

If there is no SIM in the phone, the only option is to make an emergency call. Will it actually call the emergency services or not?

Thanks for any help... would rather not confirm it the hard way.

Put it on airplane mode and hope he don't figure out how to turn it back on again
