Once we have a green light for the roll-out, we’ll update this post and O2 customers will be available to download the update via Zune. Exciting times, right?! Meanwhile, I’m curious to know which particular feature from the latest version (7.8) are you guys waiting for?

I just plugged my wife's lumia 800 to zune and she went through 4 different updates and got the 7.8 OS.

Immediately I did likewise for my 800 and after getting the first update (7.10.8779.8) the update process stops saying it is over.

What's going on? Why only some people is getting the full 7.8 update!?

7.10.8773.98

7.10.8779.8  <---You are here

7.10.8783.12

7.10.8858.136

Only three more to go, good chance that by the time my contract has run out (18 months) I'll be almost there.

Tried Zune again tonight and it has downloaded the update, wasn't working yesterday so keep trying - hopefully everyone will get it sooner rather than later now!

Received message today saying update available - I thought great 7.8 at last! Plugged into Zune and alas no, it was only 7.5! What does 7.5 give me that I didn't have before, from I can see NOTHING!

I feel like being back at school and breaking into song and singing "Why are we waiting" - those that know the words sing-a-long!

O2 sort it out!

Still nothing more for me.

As a matter of interest, if other networks have already pushed ths update, what's to stop us sticking a T Mobile or Vodafone SIM in our phone and getting the update like that? Has anyone tried it?

If you bought the phone from O2 then the Sims from other networks I.e. T-MOBILE Orange won't work as your phone is classed as being locked.... If you bought the phone from likes of Carphone warehouse then you won't have a problem as the phone will be classed as "unlocked".

As mentioned in the other thread you started, if you have a network branded phone, you will wait for updates from both Nokia or Android. The only way to get faster updates is to buy a sim free phone.

I DO NOT WORK FOR O2

I dont understand why o2 are being so quiet about this. I have spoke to 3 gurus and each said something different and that they cant give any info. Just to be informed what is going on once and for all would suffice. Im sure im not the only one feeling left in the dark .

Yes my phone is unlocked to all networks (I bought it on eBay when I was with Voda) but it does still have the O2 start screen.
