Nokia 930 is listening. What does this mean, can I turn it off

All of a sudden my new 930 has started putting a message on screen to say it is listening. I must have done something but I do not know what. What is this message for and is there any way to turn it off

I would hazard a guess that it is Cortana listening for a command.
Check the app settings and turn off the "always listening" option.
It may also be activated by holding the Windows or back key depending, again, on the settings you have enabled.

The advert on TV for Cortana uses that phrase... "Cortana is always Listening"...

Cortina is turned off, so I started it then could not find anything that suggested always listening though I will keep looking. Thank you for your suggestion.

Have a look in Settings >Speech and see what is enabled - I just have mine set to Bluetooth Only.

As suggested in an earlier message I went looking at cortina, I turned it in then went through the screens it puts up. When finished I turned it off and since then the blue notification at the bottom of the screen has not returned. It was turned off before and is turned off now so no real difference in settings.
