I love quotations.
I have used one of my favourites in my signature:
"Some people see things as they are and ask `Why?`; I dream of things that never were are ask `Why not`" said by Senator Robert Kennedy, brother of JFK.
Do you have a favourite quotation or saying?
Whether it is serious or humorous, by a famous person or a relative of friend, why not share it?

There are many I like.
One, which wasn't famous at all, but uttered by my dear old dad when watching a particularly bad singer or act. He would sneer and say 'I wouldn't pay them in washers'
As I said, nothing famous or emotive. Just dad passing judgement.
The one in my signature is famous, only if you are a fan of Sherlock. It can be (mis)construed to mean many other things.

It's not a quote by a famous person, but what comes to mind is years ago in my teens someone said to me along the lines of "you can only do the best you can do" which related to me feeling like I wasn't doing enough and feeling stressed about things. It was very helpful then, and I still think of it today when things get hectic sometimes to just remind myself to take a breath and that I can't stretch everywhere at once.

This is a quote but more fun than meaning...

I remember that saying @jonsie. One of our members @Liquid used it in his signature
Quite funny to see he hasn't become Anonymous?
Strangely, I recorded he Chase whilst out shopping and it was actually one of the questions when I've just finished watching it back. Spooky or what?

"Knowledge is knowing that a tomato is a fruit, wisdom is not putting it in a trifle".
I remember reading that in another community forum (in someone's signature), and it always made me smile. I've just googled it though, and apparently it's attributed to Miles Kington (the late broadcaster, musician, and journalist), and it should actually read "...wisdom is not putting it in a fruit salad".
For some reason I prefer trifle (but not with tomatoes)
